Really I need a separate post, but some basic info... these 6 revolvers are all made by Smith & Wesson. The 3 on the left are 357 Magnum, probably my favorite caliber to shoot in a handgun. The 3 on the right are 44 Magnum... these are definitely more of a "blast" and the feeling of power is amazing, but usually a few cylinders at a time and I am good. Still, I adore 44 Magnum.
5 of these were made pre 2000. The one in the upper right is circa 2011, the one one in the upper left is 1977 (California Highway Patrolman, man I love that one). I have some others not in this shot, and have tried to acquire most of Smith's original finishes. The 44 Magnum on the lower right is original factoring blued, and it is utterly gorgeous in person. Here is a shot of a factory nickel I own, I got this one 2 years ago but have yet to take it to the range.
Happy to discuss more in another thread. As "watch guys", think of how we justify our collections... we need a basic watch, a chronograph, a manual winder and some autos, a rubber strap for summer and a good bracelet piece, ceramic for scratch resistance... on and on we go! I can easily argue guns are like that x10. But that process is similar
