2020 saw a net 1 watch increase. It seems that the big brands for the most part have lost my attention, as evidenced by me letting go of both my PAM779 and selling my IWC Big Pilot. In fact, this was the 3rd Big Pilot I gave up for adoption. I love the idea of the watch, and even though I try, for one reason or another they never stay.
Added in January of 2020 was my Grand Seiko SBGH269 (geesh, seems like 3 years ago). I saw it fittingly for the first time while on vacation in Japan and was smitten ever since. I was lucky my AD at home could reserve one for me.
Next I added a Habring2 with Jumping Seconds complication. A fantastic watch that ticked many boxes for me.
Last, as an early 40th birthday gift to myself I added this Laine Gelidus 3 which is a mix of frosting and guilloche. While it was love at first sight, being a little dressier in nature I am surprised how I often I wear it. I guess when you become 40 it becomes easier to come to terms with a “dress watch”. Is this it? Has it happened? Am I officially old???🥸🤬🤯😳
