A trip to the coast
May 09, 2020,15:33 PM
Not looking to go far - as I think international is so far away, looking forward to when local travel is a bit more relaxed.
Cheers

The WS for the 8th of May - ‘Far, far away’ is live!
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-05:29
As announced, the topic for this weekend’s WS is ‘Far, far away’. So the place you’d love to travel to, when this is all over and the watch / watches you would take with. Looking forward to seeing your entries and for all of us to the opportunity to resum...

Villeret Best Regards Livius ...
Superb, Livius!
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-08:22
The shots of your Minerva are the first thing I remembEr from WS many years ago 😊 Still a winner 👌🏻
🙏🏻
By: Weems@8 : May 9th, 2020-08:55
That Minerva. I think i have a grail watch. So pure, so Swiss, so everything. What is the ref? Greats, Sven.
I can only wish and dream of travel now...

But imagination can take me far away... The dials of these two 1964 Worldtimers conjure up locales -- Noumea, Iceland, Calcutta, the Azores -- places I can still visit in my imagination! But if there was a chance to travel, I'd bring another Seiko with me...
This is the beauty of world timers...
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-08:33
There’s at least the promise of the far and exciting on the wrist. And I am sure the Alpinist would be a great travel companion, wherever you go 👌🏻 Fantastic shot from India - a place I am yet to visit 🤞🏻
My "Odyssey" through the world of watches will lead me

to an island of the Greek mythology, Polyphem's island. Angular Momentum sent a series of ten to the States. I ordered the 11th Polyphemos today. Watchpics totaldesignreviews.com ...
Such a fascinating piece!
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-08:34
But I have to say I seas thinking you’d pick a different location 😉 Great choice, though 👌🏻
Wow ...
By: Cpt Scarlet : May 9th, 2020-04:06
That’s very cool 😎
Thank you
By: brauner : May 9th, 2020-05:25
Have to wait 3 weeks. Not easy.
Let's go!

Fantastic travel pictures, Nico!
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-09:21
As expected - you are a master of this genre. Just out of curiosity, which would be your preferred location to go to after the lock-down is over?
Great topic and lovely pictures of a very far off place my friend! [nt]
By: nomadgiles : May 8th, 2020-09:16
For dreaming of travels there’s nothing better than a world time: And favourite watches to travel with - and as a consequence hold very fond memories- are the fume GP - here in Maroc: And Italy: Portugal: And Hungary: And then there’s the GMT that’s been ...
Thanks a lot, Giles!
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-09:22
I am really hoping that I will manage to execute the trip. It's 13 days of hard driving, in case all goes well. And of course in case my wife allows me - it most certainly isn't a family trip
As said, early days ;)
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-10:42
But ideally I would like to do the silly thing and do it in a non-SUV There is one car I have my eye on but I do not want to jinx it yet
2CV?
By: cazalea : May 9th, 2020-12:53
No doubt a 2CV is first on your wish list! 4x4 version very capable I no longer look forward to these journeys! I've been to the western edge of Russia & Finland in a 2CV, but not driving "into" Russia Sounds like a REAL adventure. Have you seen the movie...
Not quite...
By: KMII : May 9th, 2020-13:37
Even though it would be fun. If one is to make it in 13 days (10.000km), one needs to be able to make good progress. I believe that if it all works out to plan, we would use one of the few cars you’ve not driven yet 😉 As for the movie it rings a bell but ...
Great shot...
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-09:29
And watch! At least it allows for travelling 'virtually', which is better than nothing. Hope you will be able to do the trip next year
A faraway place
By: Tick Talk : May 8th, 2020-11:01
I was gutted to have a climbing expedition cancelled for this season but hope the restrictions are lifted to get back above treeline soon. The feelings of serenity and solitude are absolutely spiritual. Sometimes I even think of this inscription on a V&C ...
Now that’s serious!
By: KMII : May 8th, 2020-12:42
And you really meant significantly above the tree line! Fantastic shots, and an Overseas really being ‘Overseas’ 👌🏻👍🏻
Funny story
By: Tick Talk : May 9th, 2020-08:28
I had arranged to take a loaner 2nd Gen Overseas on Denali when it was newly introduced but VC cancelled at the last minute saying something about the endeavour not being the proper image for their marketing plans. Instead they waited ten years for Cory R...

Abel, I hope things are ok for you - we don’t have much coverage of the Southern Hemisphere and what’s happening there. Best wishes, Mike
