I would wish to speak better Chinese than your English
I'm German.
My knowledge is more basic, more like some common knowledge about Chinese living culture like food or tea, art, religion, literature, sport, history and stuff like that.
As well I do like to let tailor my suits at A Man Hing Cheong (one of the best) based in Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong. I love Hong Kong, very exiting city, and of course I love the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (still the best). Much more of China I've not seen yet. But I know Hong Kong is not China. So I'm exited to do the Grand Tour through China as soon as possible.

I would have guessed it's Pala - Indian. But yours is Chinese and lime stone, they are phantastic art. According to the posture of hands (indian mudra) they have had a certain meaning mostly corresponding to Buddhas life (or former life) story.
