Try to do some pictures with natural light at lunch time, a even better outcome would maybe achieved.
Do you have pictures of the inside also? The numbers and the caliber would put the watch to the later 1940's.

Take some sharp and high resolution photos from inside and outside of the watch with natural light and afterwards return the watch to your friend. Tell him you need some time to decide, your wife make troubles – whatever. If he is a friend, he should acce...
