When I bought my Daytona, my AD told me they were only allowed to sell it at MSRP, and despite higher value on the secondary market, they were not allowed to attach a premium. Also, any AD caught by Rolex discounting is seriously punished. Years ago, my AD had someone call and spoke with their new salesman who offered 20% off. Turns out the caller was from Rolex, testing ADs. They were suspended for (I believe) six months.

in the golf industry in the USA. The top brands can only be sold at a certain price, all the same, no matter where you buy them. A dealer who transgresses loses the account. Hard and tough with no exceptions, period.

Rolex demanding adherence to MSRP is NOT price fixing, nor is it illegal. They have EVERY right to demand consistent pricing of their products.
"Price fixing" is an agreement between competing brands. There is NOTHING wrong with a brand establishing prices and forcing dealers to stick to that pricing.

The ADs dont sell higher, they dont sell. They seller from AD sell to a friend of the house, mostly an watch dealer, and the seller from AD get a provison in cash. They are all corrupt.

I agree but you can only blame Rolex. Over the last 2 years all sports watches have been hard to obtain. Waiting lists 5 years plus.
The AD knows what the market price is. So if they sell to you or I, we could flip the watch for a big profit. Unethical , but business is business. If the AD does not benefit, then the buyer could definitely.

This unfortunately is common practice in many countries in Asia and even the Rolex Boutiques practise selling certain watches above the RRP. I have no idea how they have managed to get away with it and I too wish that Rolex HQ would take action.

I've heard of some selling for MSRP, but forcing you to buy another piece, too. I would never entertain such a practice. These ADs are the same guys who cry foul against gray market dealers. Such double standards!

In some watch shops when the BLNR was a hot item. Not surprising! In the past, one goes to HK to buy wristwatch for its availability and low price. Not anymore! How times have changed unfortunately. Marking up beyond SRP is the new norm for hot watches.
