Rolex

Hola amigo Nicolas!! You know I have an special fondness for ...

... 1680´s... and yours is a Beauty! A little jewel indeed, to find in this condition, and with the complete set of accesories and papers to boot!

I can imagine how much you enjoy this piece in your collection. That´s a great find indeed!

Incidentally, I feel it is not so rare to find that a watch was sold by an AD, some years later than the date of production.

At least here, in Argentina, you will find many watches sold in that way.

Some times the dealer (AD) keeps some in stock as an investment.
Sometimes, Rolex main office here, sells several references, to a local AD. The deal is the AD should receive (somewhat compulsively) some slow sellers models, if they wish to get some desired references like the SS Daytona. So they remain in stock in the AD for some time.

During 2010, I bougth (in a local AD whose owner happens to be an old friend of mine) one 14060M, and also a discontinued 16600 SD and 16710 GMT. All them, serial Z (2006 production). All brand new, complete sets with box, papers and accesories, warranty card to my name.

I was searching for those watches for some time and couldn´t find any more specimens for sale of those last references in any other local AD. Rolex main office informed no more were in stock, as they were replaced by the then new DSSD, and Ceramic GMT.

But I was fortunate that my friend had kept them in his safety box as investment or for "special" clients of his AD shop.

I feel same must happen in other Countries as well. Thus the reason we sometimes find watches sold so after their production year.

Thank you for sharing this gorgeous Submariner, in your usual great photographs Nicolas!
Best cordial regards, Abel.
