Any guys remember these???

How sad was I??? Over 20 years ago all from the National Geographical magazine. The Newbies will think I’m crazy. Back in the day before the internet this sort of thing excited some of us. The only way we could gain experience with Watches was to touch and feel not look at a screen.
Jesus I sound like my dad.
Found these last night. Had forgotten I had them. All interesting reads.

it nurtured imagination more than today. I still remember looking at these pictures, dreaming of these watches more then 30 years ago. Somehow made me dream more back then compared with the information overflow of today. Br, Dirk

100% agree sir.

Made us dream of ownership rather than just owning at the click of a mouse or swipe of our screens. M.

No. I wasn't allowed to read that magazine.

This ads are now a piece of history. Digitize and they will live forever.

So would you clip the ads for reference or for watches you planned to own or own. Thanks for sharing. Bill

Thanks Bill. Like the Watches the chase was the exiting bit.

There was really no one to share this guilty pleasure with.. It was easier to share Playboy favorites with friends than share your enthusiasm over a watch.. a mechanical one at that during the era of quartz. Going to a watch store never even crossed my mi...

That is exactly how I felt.

And the exact response I was hoping to evoke by this post. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and your honesty. They brought up the exact same emotion in me the other day when I found them. M.

I really like those old Rolex advertisements. I also took some of them from magazines. And as you wrote at that time it was much more difficult to see them on computer. Connections were rather slow and while trying to open a large pic on the computer scre...
