Clueless_Collector, Raymond, shares a personal account of breaking his own collecting rules by acquiring a similar Rolex Daytona, driven by his partner's affection for his original piece. This post beautifully illustrates the emotional connection collectors have with their watches and the unexpected ways a collection can evolve, all set against the backdrop of a vibrant trip to Lisbon.

Iโ€™m not a person who like redundancy and I certainly will not prefer to get watches that look similar and set of a model with different colors.

That is why I admire you when collectors share their whole stack of watches that are similar eg Speedmasters and moon watches, of 1815 or Patek world times (exception of adding a 5131x)

But...this one is different ๐Ÿ˜ฌ and when your other half stole it, as witnessed by Nico during our Paris meet, this is the only solution.

It happened while I was on vacation in Lisbon. While having dinner, 2 friendly AD from US called and said itโ€™s here...guess I have to buy some lottery. I have another incoming which broke my rules tomorrow....actually I told some members already so not really new news.

I would love to know whatโ€™s the secret on building such good relationships with your ADs. I find it very hard personally living on big cities and corporate like ADs.

my AD said it's white and I'm like "Bingo"! Thanks Nico, but you have the 16520 white, which is very cool too.

No secrets, just building good relationships with multiple ADs and also with the representative/ambassador. In this case, it is not the same AD. I am very fortunate my friendly rep in the 2nd AD takes very good care of me, it's reciprocal appreciation...just like you saw some members here can get very, very sought after APs, PPs

Highly recommended to take a day trip to Sintra, itโ€™s also amazing.

Maybe a quote from a non-Rolex brand๐Ÿ˜, but it seems that you've already mastered the rules.
