Thank you Robert for raising this discussion. It is something I regularly think about.
Im thinking it’s also important that it is something that they see on my wrist. At one point I was pondering the idea of getting Rolex from their birth year and put them aside. That’s a fun idea but someone here made the point that it’s much better to get something from my collection with my scratches on it that they have seen me wear regularly. It’s more authentic. So I decided that I will decide at a later point, what exactly I’m going to choose for them. I will also say it depends on what they appreciate as adults. I am going to wait at least 15 years from now before deciding what I will pick out.
