Patek Philippe

While I agree it's cumbersome, I understand the underlying need...

When you have more customers than watches, and an arbitrage opportunity for bad actors, these kind of measures are understandable and even reasonable.  Simply put, the brand wants to know who their dealers are selling their watches to.  As easy as that.  And that's within their purview.  It can be annoying though - totally understand that.  And it can be intimidating.  Just don't be intimidated.  But understand, it's for a good cause.  It's to prevent dozens of resellers from buying these watches, tightening supply for real buyers.  Does it work?  It does work a little bit.  Oh, and the no credit card part - that's not a part of this - and that's a new one.  2-4 do make sense though.

I would suggest to these Authorized Dealers - don't sell to a reseller, but more importantly, do make sure your team members are well trained about technical knowledge about watches.  Patek Philippe will close a store for poorly trained staff nearly just as fast as a store that sells to too many resellers.
