However, I'm not sure why Patek felt it necessary to release two limited edition models. The 30th was a much more appropriate way to celebrate the nautilus. Patek could easily have saved the 5990 for the anniversary, released the 5796 in steel as a regular production model for those wanting a larger size, and for the collectors the 5711/1p could also have been saved for the anniversary and released as a limited edition.
I'm sure the anniversary text is more subtle in real life, but it doesn't seem very "Patek" like.
