My experience with Patek…….
Jul 08, 2021,07:01 AM
I had 2 watches that had minor problems after receiving from my AD.
(1) 5976G - there was a hairline scratch on the bracelet the moment I received the watch. When I showed my AD, they claimed the plastic sealed bag may have something to do with the scratch. I was a little bothered by this, but after thinking about this, I was going to scratch the watch after wearing it anyway. I was just thrilled to be allocated the lovely piece and still wearing it a few times a month.
(2) 5131/1P - after adjusting the time on the watch, if I manually wind the watch, the time may jump forward 3 minutes. I brought it to the service center and they sound like they are very familiar with this problem. So now the watch is in Geneva and I should get it back in 2 months.
My take on PP’s QC is that sometimes it’s not PP’s QC issue, It is very likely some of the mechanical problems arises is during shipping between Geneva and your local AD. Boxes and packages being banged around or maybe even thrown around. Can this be improved….most definitely. However, this has nothing to do with the PP’s QC at manufacturing.
If the watches are authentic in the video, which I believe it is very much the case, then there are some issues they need to attend to in house, as these are parts that was not inspected thoroughly enough before installing on the watch itself. I am lucky enough not to have these problems yet.
Just my 2 cents…
