When I was considering to buy the 5230G, my intention was to switch the original strap to a mate black one like the 5205G's (the dark dial version), with grey stitching to kind of dress the watch down a little bit.
Another option was to go for a dark grey strap matching the dial, which could look nice and be very versatile at the same time.
I experienced something similar with my 5726A, I wasn't comfortable wearing it on the black alligator strap unless I was wearing black shoes and belt. But with the grey composite, I'm wearing it much more often no matter the outfit.
And with the 5110G, which comes with mate black strap, I only have issues when I wear certain outfits with brown complements. But to be honest, the strap being narrower than today's standard width, it contributes to make it "less visible" and gives me some more "freedom" to combine it.
Anyways, I'm considering to order a dark blue strap, similar than the 5130G's one, which I believe is the most versatile option for the watch.

Actually I didn't know that the 5110 doesn't have it, I noticed when I tried it on and I must admit that it's a nice red touch.

The 5110 has the more beautiful dial and case imo. Indeed, the design is just about perfect. And it's the original Patek WT after decades of it not being offered
That's the one I'd go for unless you feel that you'd strongly prefer the 38.5mm case size size of the 5230.

I've never seen the other versions in person but the G is beautiful. 37mm is a bit small to me, but I love the way it sits on my wrist, it has a very nice vintage look.

The good thing here is that you can't go wrong. Both are beautiful. Having said that...

I always check it and it's incredible how the manufacturers try to "hide" the size difference, although most of the times it's a "no go" for me.
If you throw the 5110P into the mix than that's the one I would go for. No question

I went by my AD today and ordered both the gray matte strap and the black matte with grey stitching.
They had that 5205G in stock so I was able to see it on the watch, and it looks great! I’ll post pictures when I get them in. I’m excited! 😁
