Here are my Top 5 Pateks of all time!
And I only need a million dollars!
1. Patek 5029R - This minute repeater was produced in 30 pieces in 1997 (10 in yellow, 10 in rose and 10 in platinum) to commemorate the opening of Patek's new factory. I love the elegant dial with its Breguet hands and numerals. I adore the hinged back and the the 35mm diameter which is the perfect size for me.
2. Patek 5959 - this 33.2mm split second chronograph is a showcase of what Patek can do with its ultra thin movement in a thin small case. It is almost inconceivable for any other watchmaker to cramp so much into something so little. I love the dial too and once asked Patek to give me a dummy as I would have been quite happy with that. Unfortunately, they politely had to reject my request so instead I have to settle for a Patek lithograph of the movement which I have framed up in my lounge.
3. Patek 5940G - my favourite perpetual calendar in its toneau shape case but what I really adore about this watch is its elegance - you can tell I have a weakness for Breguet numerals. Nice slim case with the 240PS movement, this is at least a watch I am on the way to owning!
4. Patek 3969R - the almost forgotten jump hour issued in 450 pieces for Patek 150th anniversary. Beautiful small size and very elegant. Jump hours are somewhat uncommon for Patek so this to me is quite a bargain especially as the 5275 costs twelve times more.
5. Patek 7200R London Edition - my daily watch issued in 80 pieces for the 2015 London Exhibition. Simple automatic watch but I love its 34.6mm size and the way the movement almost fills up the whole case back which is less common these days among many Calatravas. And yes, Breguet hands and numerals of course
My top 5 encompasses all what Patek is famous for - a minute repeater, an ultra thin split second chronograph, a perpetual calendar, a jump hour and a simple automatic Calatrava.

Th 5029R - unparalleled elegance

The hinged back is a lovely touch

the 5959 - perfect front and back!

The 5940G - a handsome watch and my favourite perpetual calendar

the 3969R - pity Patek had destroyed the mould used to make the watch.

The 7200R London Edition - Simplicity is sometimes the best!
