and as wildly popular as they are I just can not bring myself to like the Patek Phillippe Nautilus. I admit to being in the minority on this, hell, I may be the only anti-Nautilus guy on the planet. Are they nice watches, absolutely, no doubt and without ...

Never been a big fan of this watch .

but watches like the Aquanaut and especially the Octo Finissimo, appeal much more to me. And that has nothing to do with the value of the Nautilus.

Happy to say, if I REALLY wanted a Nautilus, , I could get one. I have just never been attracted to that watch. I have a couple of Aquanauts ( one in gold, one in steel) and I love them! They are minimalist , wonderful watches. Having said that, I can cer... 

...I tried on my friend's perpetual. The weight of it surprised me (in a good way), and the dial was just super-clean. That's the only one I'd save my pennies for.

Well thought out, deserves contemplating

Tried on the 5712 and 5726 in steel when they were still readily available, but they didn‘t make my heart beat faster. I fell immediately for the 15202 on the other hand.

But I have to say it is a very well built and nice watch. Still loving it and wearing it today. Do I wish for more? Of course but the game is so different now. My only wish is to have one more, the 5740/1G and I can RIP 😂 ...  

I bet even some of the people that pay the crazy prices are not so thrilled about it but they buy it because everyone else wants one.

You don't need to try so much to like it. The shape of the dial, bezel and crystal is extremely ugly.

I don't laugh at your opinions. I prefer the design of the royal oak. I hate that the nautilus shape is a rounded octagon that still has corners. Not a shape that is easy to look at for me.

Also the bezel to dial proportion is off to my eyes. Dial looks too small compared to the bezel. I just really dislike this watch.

While there are obviously LOTS of genuine collectors, as you can see on this very site, many of the folks who "chase" a Nautilus today ("seek" probably conveys the correct affection in English) remind me of this hilarious meme circulated right after the l...

But such are matters of the heart. Objectively-speaking, the bracelet-closing mechanism and non-hacking movement left me un-impressed.

someone dares to place such a statement on the Nautilus on WPS. I am in the same boat - It's a watch that simply does not appeal at all to me. Aquanaut yes but not the Nautilus. Why? Hard so say, someone in this thread said it is ugly. I would not go that...

Before all this noise of the last few years I would say it’s always been a watch appreciated by collectors and by those drawn to enduring design. Like the Royal Oak, it’s a classic. I also think that until you have one on the wrist it’s hard to truly appr...

I like the Aquanaut And would like to get one someday. But I’m not going to pay over MSRP. Which means I probably will never get one.

just shared an opinion and apparently others have the same opinion. I am just one of a select few who doesn't care for the Nautilus. Actually I feel the same about the Royal Oak, and the G-P Laureato. Am I missing out on some fine watches, yes, but so far...

Never liked any of the elite sport watches personally. I get real tool watches for sports/diving. Add in the laughable prices for the Nautilus considering what you are getting. Makes me dislike it even more.

There wasn't much demand for them. Used were about $9000 to $10,000, the quartz was $5,000 pre-owned. The Aqua resonated with me more and many years ago had one for me and the smaller matching mechanical for my Muse (now wife). Got bored, plus they are a ...

using words such as “ugly” is not friendly for our forum. A member can be cordial and say a watch is unattractive or unsuitable for his/her taste.

You might wish to point this out to Credor who used “ugly”, “even uglier” and “extremely ugly”, unchallenged and in the interest of consistency 😉 However I shall try to temper my views in future so as not to inadvertently offend.

Is it something else you are referring to? Last I checked, the word "ugly" is in the dictionary and is not labeled as offensive, insulting or vulgar. I don't see how someone using the word ugly can be labelled as unfriendly. Just my opinion, of course.
