First of all, an outstanding review of a very special watch.
I have never been a real big fan of Patek. The only models I was interested in were the calatrava.
When I compared the WG version versus the rose gold The dial on the WG version reminded me of my families aluminum Christmas tree when I was a kid. I felt that it did a huge disservice to the wonderful Mechanical movement beneath it.
I love the way the dial on the RG version plays with the light. I do agree that they could’ve been a little bit more imaginative with the hands. Anyway, I truly enjoy wearing mine and I applaud you on such a wonderful review of this magnificent time piece.
My only question is when you wind yours does it have a buttery smooth winding mechanism or does it almost feel and sound like the rotor is moving.?

Like you, I am not the biggest Patek fan. Only a few watches please me, and a lot, like the 5110P, the 5100, the 5070, the 5970, the 5960, and a very few others.
I much prefer some of their older references. As for this 5235, I am not a fan at all. The dial is full of holes. But it is just my personal taste, my friend. And I totally understand that some others can be very pleased with this one. Best, Nicolas

Thank you for this love letter to the 5235G. To me, one of the most original releases in Patek’s modern history. The dial treatment and case are fantastic and the movement significantly better finished than anything that is not a PCC or up.

when announced really caught my attention. Its design is unique and has linage to the regulator clock in Mr. P Stern's office. The brushed dial to me is amazing !
