Case construction
Patek service center confirms that the movement of 5712 and 5711 will be removed from the front, i.e. same as the 3700, 3712, etc. Although the new case consists of three pieces, the two parts (middle and lower parts) are fixed and can not be opened during service.

Looks like quite a bit of difference that does not meet the eye. THE reason that PP moved to a 2 piece case construction form the original Genta 2 peice is just cost driven or was there perhaps a deemed flaw?

I am looking at my 5712 and it looks to me that even though the case is made of three parts the only way to open it is from the shoulders.
