Roger, I agree with your thoughts.
Will pick up my 5980 sometime this week. Thereafter, I will use the watch and NOT put it on a pedestal. This watch like my GT2 is meant to be driven, meant to be used and to be enjoyed. As I had mentioned, will wear it as my daily wear for the next 1-2 years... wear it while I am in the gym, steam room, boardroom, etc. I will regard the dings and dangs as battle scars and will appreciated the watch more for its imperfection.

I am an owner of a 5980/1a and I have to agree with Zorro on all points. The way you intend to wear the watch will likely scratch up the bezel alot.
The bezel of a Dayto is a pure scratch magnet, too.
