My Patek Collection

 By: cwyjeff : June 16th, 2014-03:06
HI! Just started collecting Patek watches a few months ago, will be great to get some valuable advice. Here are my current collection....

Well, obviously, with all these watches in a few month, you don't need advices. :)))

 By: amanico : June 16th, 2014-03:15
Why some are sitll Under their plastic seam, if I may ask? Best, Nicolas

 By: vecioalpinn : June 16th, 2014-14:50
Complimentsssss.... super super super collection!! Another photo!!! please... number one!! super pink collection!!!

Go bigger: get the new 5078 R

By: COUNT DE MONET : June 16th, 2014-03:28
A lovely, lovely collection of coloured metal Patreks! Must be like meditation looking at those pieces. As you like coloured metal pieces: the 5078 R might be a (very) difficult task but a must have for a collector of your calibre. Best Moritz

5078

 By: cwyjeff : June 18th, 2014-03:02
Hi. I've just confirmed the purchase of a discontinued 42mm 5079J (bigger version of the current model 5078) from another collector and should have possession of it by next week. Appreciate the suggestion!!!

Superb....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : June 16th, 2014-03:52
But I also have some questions.... You show a wonderfully eclectic approach to the collection....can i ask what drove you to make the choices that you already have made? That will give some insight into what type of collection you are looking to build. Se...

I believe........

 By: Conkers : June 16th, 2014-04:28
......I may be wrong, but I believe the 5970 and 5960 are just back from service and still wrapped accordingly. Great collection there, 5070P next perhaps?

5070P would be a perfect addition.....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : June 16th, 2014-04:32
Though finding one might not be so easy.... ...

5070

 By: cwyjeff : June 18th, 2014-02:55
Yes....the 5070 is rare and an exquisite piece but I recently placed an order for a 5074 and it looks quite similar to the 5070 except for a lunar calendar and minute repeater added in. Should arrive before the end of the this year. Thanks for the suggest...

Well done

Nice haul! No safe queens! :)

First of all: Welcome to our Patek Philippe forum!

 By: small-luxury-world : June 16th, 2014-04:54
What we see is already impressive, especially when you say you just started. What we don´t know is your motivation to collect. The latter would be good to know to give you appropriate advices. So far I see a weakness for RG and complications, at least whe...

Complications

 By: cwyjeff : June 18th, 2014-03:03
Yes you are correct. But as I just got started on Patek I should be having a more varied range of pieces with different high end complications. Will update when I have the chance. Cheers!

By the way, do you appreciate complications like ...

 By: small-luxury-world : June 18th, 2014-13:04
engraving, enamel ... as well? If so there would be some nice pieces as well and you won´t see them easily - even in your country :-) Thanks for your candidness and "patience" (with some here; at least at the moment)! Oliver

Welcome to PuristSPro!

Your collection is amazing in a short period! Bravo and congrats! Hope you can share more with us more pics on each of your lovely PPs. Enjoy your watches in the best of health! cheers robin

VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!

 By: patekova : June 16th, 2014-07:42
Congratulations on accomplishing so much in so little time! What I find interesting about your collection is that each watch represents a complication or set of complications different from each of the others. Taking into account this apparently well thou...

Hi cwyjeff - a warm welcome to you !!

 By: GLau : June 16th, 2014-09:26
Wonderful collection for someone who just started his collection for less than a year !! My suggestion would be to add one or more of the followings: 5131G to complement your 5131J, 5196P (elegant, stylish and classy) to have a simple addition to your com...

Some choice pieces!

 By: patrick_y : June 16th, 2014-11:40
Nice collection, especially for someone new and only active in the past "few months." The most unique piece here is the 5135. That's a piece that not a lot of people choose and the people who choose it really like it. Yes, the 5131 is very special. The 51...

I totally agree with your feedback and here are the list of Patek I should be adding to my collection within the next few months 5079 (just purchased) 5074 (ordered) 5207 (hunting) 6102 (negotiating) 5016 (negotiating)

Questions

By: Le Monde Edmond : June 16th, 2014-13:33
Firstly you show some nice watches in your collection. No doubt about that. But you have not answered any questions that have been asked so far. And some of the questions would indeed provide more insight for us to be able to help you. For example: 1) I a...

1) I also would like to know why some remain in plastic. Some of the models in my collection were only recently purchased from other collectors and I did not see the need to remove the plastic seal if it comes with it. When my professional photographer ph...

No my friend

By: Le Monde Edmond : June 19th, 2014-01:03
Dear Jeff, Firstly thank you for responding to the questions. As your answer I don't quite agree with you. Building a collection has nothing to do with 'monetary' value or means. Rather it has to do with knowledge. And that knowledge is only acquired over...

Knowledge

 By: cwyjeff : June 19th, 2014-03:18
I admit I am lacking in knowledge and did not ever once mention I am some sort of expert on watches. But I do have the passion and it is what drives me to collect my watches. I want to learn more and that is why I am here in hope that I can obtain more kn...

 By: geross : June 16th, 2014-14:06
It is a fabulous collection. next to acquire will be grand complications. enjoy your collection. be healthy. congrats & best geross

If you bought all these in such short time

 By: tom2517 : June 17th, 2014-05:13
Personally I would rather pool all the money and buy a really top end piece.

Ehm...not so well done, sorry

I am aware that some of the valued forum members with considerably more experience and expertise on watches will slap me but...sorry, I can't help but disagreeing with the comments here. Having acquired half a dozen of time pieces of arguably the most pre...

Diplomacy

By: Le Monde Edmond : June 16th, 2014-14:21
I agree in principle with you. In fact the same thoughts crossed my mind. But lets keep back judgement before we hear more from the collector. Maybe he inherited many pieces and only bought 1 or 2. Maybe he studied and did his homework for years before bu...

Fair point....

On the AP forum you posted that you are waiting to get 2 Pateks back from the service center before showing us your collection. If you just started buying these watches in the last few months why do they need any servicing at all? Based on your AP posts a...

Logical response

 By: cwyjeff : June 17th, 2014-03:05
Hi. Your perception is totally understandable because of the short time I only spent to collect these watches. In due time I will post the individual shots of each of my watches including a few magazine articles on my collection and myself within the next...

beautiful collection.

Welcome to PuristSPro Patek forum

 By: KIH : June 17th, 2014-08:19

 By: Fricks : June 18th, 2014-05:00

horology culture

 By: cwyjeff : June 18th, 2014-12:33
Many thanks for your honest opinion. First off....I am not collecting watches to become a professional in the horology industry. I am merely just another avid collector of fine watches. Secondly....even at the rate I am buying watches, I won't be able to ...

well, i got to admit...

I'm going to go ahead and say it. I don't believe any of this. Prove me wrong. Take a wrist shot. Take a wrist shot outdoors. They are all your watches. Almost everybody on this site appreciates a shot of the movement as much as one of the dial. All we go...

world cup

 By: cwyjeff : June 18th, 2014-12:38

More of a challenge....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : June 20th, 2014-03:48

 By: john_doe123123 : June 19th, 2014-16:29
Supposing these really are your watches, you're an accumulator, not a collector. And your flippant self introduction is clearly rubbing some people the wrong way.

To each his own

 By: cwyjeff : June 20th, 2014-00:19
Whether I introduced myself flippantly or rubbed people the wrong way or whether I am a accumulator or collector it doesn't really matter. Everybody's perception of things are different and I am deeply sad and disappointed that instead of sharing knowledg...

I agree with EDJA

 By: U3O8 : June 23rd, 2014-08:23
The original poster's "AP Collection" looks as suspect as his "Patek Collection". I too can post wrist shots of my visit to Rue du Rhone. But I don't. I even have wrist shots of a 2499, 1518, 1526 and others. My wrist. Somebody else's watches.

Suggestions on ownership

 By: cwyjeff : June 23rd, 2014-12:13
Actually I agree with your point.....so how can someone prove his ownership of his watches through photos? Suggestions please!!!

A suggestion

 By: Iceman : June 23rd, 2014-16:56
Put all your watches together. Set the time of all the watch the same at 6 o clock. Write on a piece of papers the names of all who doubt your watch. Include your middle finger in the foto........LOL. IF u can do that, you will silence all the doubters he...

Look at the second watch from the bottom!

 By: EDJA : June 24th, 2014-00:17
its sealed by dealer and its not autthentic Patek manner of sealing the watch. My Russian dealer do the the same once the plactic sleeve is cut. And, the Collector is saying that he is currently in Brazil world cup. Ok, why do not you just to the snapshot...

You don't have to prove yourself to anyone

 By: ZJ : July 6th, 2014-09:10
