Why Omega did this?
I do not know, albeit great to discuss with you guys, why Omega priced their watches thinking they are Patek Philippe. While Patek Philippe do not have this mad price increases, while Patek Philippe has style and take their customers serious.
I have one Omega, albeit for so long i had no idea why i did not collect another one.
The strong field of good watch brands is for me the reason to not focus on one single watch brand only, and when watch brands increase overnight their prices, i say goodbye.
I am still waiting for Omega to make this beauty 90% cheaper! do you think they have sold any at all?

now that i am thinking about it, i think it was released at $48k, not $43K. but forgive me for confusing 3 and 8...
at that price, what's the difference? i love this sports watch that supposedly can actually "take a licking and keep on ticking", but the price, oh the price... see my reply to marcus below! glad someone else agrees with me!
Ahh yes, and if I see in what direction the Swatch stock market goes, then I would suggest to Omega, remain innovative, but ALSO competitive!
Ps: for people that are not familiar with the stock - meanwhile it is, where it was 10 years ago and continues to go downwards… 🙈

Fun fact is that people are ready to pay the 4x price of RM for a similar product: super light titanium watch on a rubber band. But omega is not RM.

I think they made ~500 (minimum 338) movements and cases for these in one batch pre-2019

that explains why the blue and green ones are no longer on the website. i personally do not like the new(er) yellow/blue one at all.
it is a waste (to me) to give one or many of these to "brand ambassadors" (maybe other than golfer Rory). but hell, i'd happily take one if Omega gives one to me!

Bottom line…
I don’t think Omega cares if they sell a single one of these. This is a statement piece. They sell so many watches the p&l is irrelevant…what is relevant is saying to the world we make a 50K watch.
