The moonSwatch conundrum
I'll preface this by saying that I am a huge Omega fan and I currently have two of them in my collection: a diver 300m and a modern 321.
As soon as I saw the news I knew two things:
1. this decision would be a controversial one
2. I wanted a mars edition. Badly.
But after thinking about it, I'm not sure I'll buy it. Why? Well, I can't help but think that adding such a watch would cheapen my collection. I'm a movement geek, so quartz doesn't sound too good to my ear.
I'm also quite discreet and I don't like drawing unwanted attention, so I would feel a bit weird wearing a bright red watch on a white strap.
What do you guys think? Are you going to buy one of these? I'm conflicted.

I would tend to stick to a real Swatch instead of a group mongrel that cheapens the real Moonwatch but let's open our minds and go try one later this week. I have to say the Moonswatch is quite a coup from Mr Hayek: divisive! ...
I know exactly what you mean..
I am an Omega enthusiast and in a way I think it cheapens the brand…not the end of the world but…..WHY?
Why? The answer is simple. Omega is sowing the field . . .
. . . for a future crop of Professional owners. A shopkeeper in Malaysia who can't afford a Speedy Pro now gets a Speedy Swatch which whets his appetite for the real deal down the road. A brilliant bit of marketing, if I may say so.

doesn't see an issue here. Had an 'OG' SM, will have one again. Will also have, unless they sell them all out, a couple of these pretty quartz 'pretenders'. Nothing potentially negative to my mind, an inexpensive quartz watch in no objective manner compet...

They’re not answering the calls. Really want the Uranus and Earth edition. I asked my sister to call, as she too wants a few of them. I believe queues will form outside the swatch stores for this. Wow this is revolutionary.
