It all started in 2015....

Apr 14, 2018,16:22 PM

with this Omega Spectre SM300 and since then, I’ve build a good relationship with my local boutique to start a small collection of Omega modern watches. I’m not into rusties so pls, no offense to our knowledgeable vintage collectors, you guys are brave as I always said.

It’s hard to choose a favorite because I try not to build redundancy in my watches.

Some movements may be same but the looks have to be different.

For this year’s Baselworld collection, I have not seen it in real so not sure if I will add any pieces.

I like the Apollo 8 but there is some similarity to my PCA Speedmaster. I also like the CK2998 but I already have the 2016 version. As for the 2 limited edition Seamaster 1948, I’m not sure if I need another time only watch....will see.

I’m thinking about the 2008 Alaska Project but prices has gone crazy and surprisingly to hear our Omega Chief Nilo actually sold his which leads me to ponder.

Omega is definitely doing a good job so I started to pay attention to the brand. I feel they are comparable to the crown brand now.

Do I need another Omega? I’m afraid the answer will be Yes 😜

Which one(s) do you like and why?

HAGWE

My first Omega.

OB did an awesome job finding this Silver Snoopy in 2015 as well so I bought the Ladymatic for my “boss” as an appreciation to the boutique.

These 3 came in 2016 and late 2017.

Finally the Trilogy set in 2018.

Love the snoopy speedy!

Amazes me how fast you build a nice collection ...

 By: nilomis : April 14th, 2018-17:15
Three years and your collection only contains important Omega watches. Congratulations, My favorite on your collection is the blue Moon Phase Speedmaster. Nilo Note: My wife also have the same Ladymatic.

I can only cherry pick ....

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 14th, 2018-17:38
since I have limited funds and have to get approval from my “boss” 😂 The Ladymatic and the Moonphase are just regular series, not really important watches but I have to agree they are winners too. Thank you Nilo, your Omega collection is my inspiration. R...

Totally amazing collection....

I have no complaints...

Don’t know much about Omega

 By: mj23 : April 14th, 2018-17:21
But that’s heck of a collection in 3 years “just for Omega”. 😄

They are worth a 2nd look, mj23...

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 14th, 2018-17:44
Quality and service is top notch, plus 2 or 4 years warranty depending on movement. I’m only focusing on 4 brands now, ALS, Omega, PP and Rolex.

👍👍👍 [nt]

It’s addictive and new releases just get better nowadays....

Thanks fernando.

AWesome collection! Make me jeaolous...

 By: hoseachandra : April 14th, 2018-19:47
Omega also my favourite brand now. They are consistently improving the technology at faster pace than any other brand. Their design is also timeless. And the price is still reasonable. I have two omegas in my small collection, those have been carefully se...

Is that the Apollo 11 45th Titanium Sedna Gold limited edition?

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 14th, 2018-20:12
That’s a nice one you got 👍🏻 I was too late into realizing this version. I agree they made lots of improvements and still reasonable in some pieces. Rgds Raymond

Yes it is. The moment i saw it, i knew i had to get it..

 By: hoseachandra : April 14th, 2018-22:04
The famous caliber 1861 encased in titanium grade 2, with sedna gold bezel and hands, ceramic bezel insert, laser-cut dial. I purchased the titanium bracelet which not included in the purchase, it was specially made for Speedy X-33 spacewalker gen 3. Eith...

The watch in its original brown nato is a great combo and looks great too.

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 14th, 2018-22:26
I’m more of a strap guy than bracelet when comes to Omegas, but the Trilogy looks better in bracelet in my opinion. Rgds Raymond

Indeed the included NATO strap is of very high quality. So well made...

 By: hoseachandra : April 14th, 2018-23:29
But there are times when i want to feel no worry to get the watch wet, when it's raining, or just watch my hand and clean the watch under a tap. Here is the watch with bracelet. ...

It’s truly a spectacular collection you have built up, Raymond :)

 By: KMII : April 14th, 2018-21:58
And it’s a credit to your AD that you were able to get all the limited pieces. While the CK2998 and the Snoopy are my favourites, there’s not a single watch that I wouldn’t want in my collection And my boss wants a Ladymatic at some point, too

The boutique sales whom I work with is truly amazing in helping me get these special pieces...

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 14th, 2018-22:21
That is why I have no more rooms for GS 😜 Glad you like what I got, great minds alike😬 The Ladymatic is very attractive, your boss will love it too. Thanks, my friend. Rgds Raymond

It’s often decisive in hindsight...

 By: KMII : April 14th, 2018-22:58
Great quality boutique or AD service is likely to have quite some effect on where our preferences develop towards. Not exclusive but not to be underestimated, either As for GS - never say never, might yet happen

Great collection, Raymond!

 By: Dmitriy : April 14th, 2018-23:01
My trio: ...

Very nice trio, Dmitriy 👍🏻

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 14th, 2018-23:06
The Speedmaster Racing Master Chrono, the Apollo 11 45th and what this 3rd one? You did good with the orange/black nato on that watch 👏🏻

Thanks, Raymond!)

Your Omega collection is top notch.

I'm partial to your Rail, Ray . . .

. . . but then, I'm . . . . . . biased. ;-) ...

AlexSunrise said to me that if our Dr No likes this new RM, it must be good 😬

I totally agree👍🏻 and I need to put back the bracelet soon, looks better imo. Thanks, Art. Rgds Raymond

Just abit

 By: Frank. : April 20th, 2018-05:44
Just a bit offensive to people whose collecting "rusty". Nouveau rich. I like your collection.

Nouveau riche? Seriously?

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 20th, 2018-09:36
Not sure if I like this description, Frank. These don’t even add up to a high end chrono from the famous houses, dude...Yes, I rather spend my $ than bring it to my grave, and I do donate to charity too. And they come as a result from my hard earn efforts...

No offence bud

 By: Frank. : April 20th, 2018-10:14
sure you mean no offence by using word rusty. just lacks respect

Oh I see... well “ rusty” is a common term used here but I can change to Vintage....

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 20th, 2018-10:35
which I did mention, “vintage collectors” if that makes it sound better. Thanks for pointing out.

common

 By: Frank. : April 22nd, 2018-11:28
Common but bad manners too You're modern collection is great tho.

Big Congrats Raymond! You built an amazing collection of great Omegas in such a short time!...

... It is true that Omega has been making his homework so well lately, launching several hot temptations for its fans!: the 2998 of 2016, the Trilogy set, the Moonphase Speedy, etc. etc.. As you well say, if you ask if you need another Omega for your coll...

Big Thanks Abel...sometimes I wonder what do I really want...

with all these watches and sometimes I ask myself why not just get a super nice watch instead of many small/medium ones. Of course if I have the means, to own many super nice ones that’s even better 🤣, but that’s not for mortals like me. Knowing our own l...

Hello Raymond! I share with you same feelings and doubts regarding purchasing new pieces!...

 By: Subexplorer : April 24th, 2018-05:22
... I´m a greedy collector, buy I know that we can´t buyt everything we like, and also that the more watches you own the less you enjoy them at full. It is a paradox but it happens when you own a very large collection. I guess a mature collector tends to ...

wow amazing collection :)

 By: christianch : January 19th, 2020-13:20
mine is really similar..just a few moon watches more (and I don't have the blue modern speedmaster moon and also not the Porsche one of course! )

Thanks my friend....The nice thing about Omega...

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 19th, 2020-13:30
Availability is relatively easier than you know who 😉 Last year, I’m sure you might know 3 more joined and this year I’m expecting the new Bond 25 and the Ed White. ...

It’s polar...izing 😉 [nt]

 By: Clueless_Collector : January 19th, 2020-14:08

Hard to believe that both the Moonshine and the Buzz . . .

 By: Dr No : January 19th, 2020-16:45
. . . are community watches, but they are. I think you're the only guy with both, though. ;-)

My memory ain't what it used to be . . .

 By: Dr No : January 19th, 2020-17:23
. . . and it was never much good to begin with!

Resurection

 By: Weems@8 : January 22nd, 2020-14:51
Ha, this tread is back on the road again. Like a history book. Omega is a watch, lay it for years in a drawer, take it out and set the hands on the right time, and enjoy. From this day 22-1-2020 i understand why Nasa took the speedy as the watch which mus...
