Overall I agree with you, except on the toy car analogy. But let's say this... Let's say Aston Martin or Bentley (Bentley makes the cars in the books, Aston in the movies) made a car for $60,000 and it looked like a normal Aston Martin or Bentley. Sure, it had basic internals, a small 2.0 liter engine, but it looked kind of like the genuine article. That'd make people mad! Luxury brands really don't want to cheapen their brand and they do everything to avoid it. So this is just a really unusual move. Then again, the spaceship looking BMW i8 only has a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engine, and most people don't seem to mind!
