Panerai PAM 587 OR / AND PAM 673?
2 Marina Miliatare which are so close, but also a bit different.
Recto:
The presence of a crownguard is so Panerai. A lot of people loves Panerai because of which is more than a detail, a part of the brand's DNA.
It gives a lot of strength to the whole watch. While the two dials and hands are the same.
Same for the case backs:
Close. But if you better look at the movement, which is the same, the Cal P 3000, it is differently decorated. I prefer the P 3000 in the 673.
So back to the initial question; PAM 587 AND / OR PAM 673?
I would say that I don't know: The 587 is in my list. But I still hesitate to add the 673 OR the 372. I would have more differences with the 587 and the 372. But getting two Marina Militare is something quite seducing...
Dilemma...

I never did fancy the crown guard on Panerais despite it being their trademark, it only adds bulk to an already large case. I guess that's why I only ever really liked a couple watches from their entire offering .

Same case as 372?
This ticks a lot of boxes for me. Is the case exactly the same as that of the 372, or like the Fiddy?

I've had my eye on a 587 for a while, especially with the recent, beautiful photographs of this watch here -- but the 673 has its charms too. For those who were on the fence regarding one or the other, what did you finally decide, and do you prefer one or...
Maybe we can say that the 587 is more elegant, and the 673 more macho. Two monsters, two lovely ones. You can't go wrong with either.
But if I had to choose only one, I would probably go for the 587. Unless I go for the 662, then in this case, I'd pick the 673 to diversify the cases. Best, Nicolas

I'm new to Panerai so am just learning the history, but given that the 587 is a Radiomir 1940 case, isn't this ideal for the Marina Militare designation since the Italian Navy made its name in WWII? Maybe this is irrelevant or I'm missing something but th...

stereotype model, in the Panerai production. Nowadays the wording only..celebrates..the long standing relationship between the two parties. PAM36 and PAM82 and PAM339 are a practical proof of this

Both the 587 and 673 are beautiful watches. A difficult choice, made easier by the fact that it's pretty hard to find a new 587 at this time! It was also about $1,000 less expensive, if I recall.
The 587 will look and feel smaller due to the missing crown guard. i personally would most likely go with the 587.

45mm and very thin. But then don't ask for more history on these models. Matches to me only to a radiomir though . Crown guard on a thin luminor looks silly on my point of view
