I agree with you on the crown - it might not be a good fit for the case. While there's nothing extremely groundbreaking here, I'd say that JLC did a good job - the case is beautiful and a perfect combination of strong German design and a more delicate rounded looking French design. The previous Duometre cases were more "German" and "austere" in design.

...as for moon phase, the old version looks like it uses the silk-screen moon from the Reverso, which is inelegant. The metal disc is simpler but more elegant.
I agree for the silk screen... Maybe cheaper than a metal disc but it's personal, I prefer it because it's more poetic.
And this blue is not the one I prefer (I mean the color) ... ...

I agree for the case design that I've always liked and for the look... even if I love the austere design (Thanks to my German origin ;-) ) Not a fan of joker face and copper... so... this iteration is not for me.
And there are a lot of things I don't find coherent... and I think that's a bit of a shame....

I do find the new Duometre offering attractive and a nice re-take on the double barrel complication movement. The one-line one-case motto isn't exactly a secular tradition. In fact most movement lines historically have had different cases to fit the style...

I think that is good that such an important line as Duometre
has an incremental change and not radical one. For me the gold one was a bit bulky so I do look forward to try the steel.

This is why I didn’t buy the earlier as much as I loved it. If repair and services experiences with Reverso were an indication, I cannot imagine the cost and time for this one when my kids send it in 40 years from now.
