In my opinion,
JLC did very interesting models these last 3-4 years. The only complaint is the price tag which has gone up to the roof compared to the will of customer to pay such price tag.
So previous CEO was not bad in my opinion, only didn’t understand the customer will to pay for.

one has to wonder if this is, career-wise, a demotion for him. was madame renier's tenure considered a success or failure ("belle horlogerie"...) within the industry?
either way, i wish Lambert well and hope it bodes well for JLC, but i have no idea what direction he can take that will not be viewed as a gross indictment of madame renier's leadership. but if Rupert loves her, she has nothing to worry about...
Perhaps. All the luxury brands are changing up leadership to deal with the rapidly softening market so it's not just Richemont.
Compensation may not that different either since the group is ultimately overhead vs directly tied to revenue at the brands. Best case they are reorging to people's strengths and this is seen internally as an investment into JLC for the future. If I were ...

The problem is not just the product it’s more the insane prices the brands set and I seriously doubt they will ever lower them, since they have to satisfy shareholders… Sadly one can make a superb product all day if it becomes unaffordable. But hope never...

All the brands know they've gone too far with price hikes so crossing my fingers that he brings back some value
It's hard to lower prices but what he can do is introduce new lines with better value so it isn't seen as lowering prices. It's the only way to surviv, the air has gotten very thin at the top price points.
How about this... in a few years do i get my wife a Reverso or Patek?

JLC reached the peak when M. Lambert was at the helm. There were so many watches coming out with characters. But, was he the deputy head of the Richemont Group prior to returning to JLC? Does this mean a reduction in his authority ？

I feel bad for some of these CEO appointments as it takes years to develop new products, strategies, and processes. There is so much legacy to work through. At least Richemont is willing to let its brands innovate and then communicate. Swatch does virtual...
