Damn... My first problem with a JLC...
By: Alfihar : October 4th, 2021-16:40
As Amanico had announced it... I crossed the milestone of 1 / 20th of a millennium this Sunday ... And I thought for a long time to know what would be the watch that I would offer to myself for this event. The range of possibilities was enormous ... Vinta...
it'll get rectified.
By: sludgeriff : October 4th, 2021-17:03
My understanding is that all Duometres have to back to Le Sentier to be serviced. Mechanical watches are temperamental little bastards. There are a million things that can go wrong. After it comes back from JLC it will look and perform perfectly.
Very true
By: Gelato Monster : October 4th, 2021-23:54
You will get it back at an even better condition
Hi aperna
By: Alfihar : October 5th, 2021-05:57
I've always been aware that the main thing is somewhere other than a watch problem ... it's just annoying ... and it happened the day after a great moment so I actually put it into perspective. The fact remains that it is frustrating and I cannot explain ...
That’s true… maybe JLC may solve this problem… or not…
By: Alfihar : October 5th, 2021-06:01
I will be extremely disappointed if that is not the case ... I think that might lead me to turn my back on this brand that I love. And when I turn my back, I never look back. La biz mon poto
Congratulations on a story extremely well-told
By: blau : October 4th, 2021-17:26
Condolences, though, on the contents of the story! One question, though: do my eyes deceive me, or is the screw not fully seated in the original pictures? If it wasn't, that might explain how it came the rest of the way out when you wound it--you made the...
I rewind the watch only twice till July…
By: Alfihar : October 5th, 2021-06:18
Indeed either the screw was unscrewed and this was not seen during the inspection in July, or the screw broke. I do not see any other possibility ... and I think the first hypothesis is the most likely, unless it is a question of a brittleness of the stee...

I would wear that JLC wrong. Great movement to see.
Could it be an inherent design flaw
By: Cookies : October 4th, 2021-18:51
If the threadings in the screw are in the same direction as the barrel uncoupling movement, it will eventually loosen. Not sure if i can illustrate this well. One barrel turns clockwise, and the other barrel turns anti-clockwise. Therefore, the uncoupling...
I can feel your pain in this
By: Cookies : October 4th, 2021-19:05
I hope it gets rectified. As in automobiles, the more complex the engines are, the more problems can arise. It is a beautiful piece to behold. If it were me, I will shake off the feelings of disappointment and get it repaired. It has sentimental value. It...
That’s right

Complicated but beautiful women
For sure they are…
By: Alfihar : October 5th, 2021-13:35
marvelous, complicated as a perpetual calendar, sometimes sound like a minute repeater to remind you things, sometimes, poetic times like a lunar calendar, sometimes always late like the hand of a split-seconds… a all in one grande complication…
Brother don’t ask JLC about the screws
By: Cookies : October 5th, 2021-13:50
Their reps are quite snobby at times, I had a big quarrel with a brand manager in Singapore because they sent me my Geophysic user manual with a torn page. And the torn page coincidentally was in my native language. I suspected foul play. My previous navy...
What you describe is (unfortunately) sad.
By: Alfihar : October 5th, 2021-14:40
As far as I'm concerned the contact went well and was both understanding and caring. I am waiting for Thursday to go to the Paris store to see if the acts are consistent with the speeches. For the moment I cannot plead except for the inconvenience of havi...
Dear Alfihar, happy belated 50th again.
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 4th, 2021-20:28
I had to calculate what 1/20 of a millennium is… Regarding your situation, I would like to share my perspective with you. I have had my fair share of heartaches with watches. In no particular order, I have had problems with De Bethune, Journe, JLC and als...

I have been patience to put it on my wrist and have to be again 😬 Love affairs need patience Best Ø
Thanks my friend
By: Alfihar : October 5th, 2021-06:45
I have the same question as you ... either the screw was loose and it was not noticed during the check ... or it broke due to a fragility of the steel ... I do not see another explanations because I have only rewind it twice since July (Sunday tbefore put...
So true… time flies
By: Alfihar : October 5th, 2021-06:48
And my Duometre may fly to le Sentier… and come back in good condition… maybe after 3 months Best Ø
I thought it was a showcase
By: Weems@8 : October 5th, 2021-08:24
Knocking on wood, i have no movement troubles with all my watches. My Omega have a strange crown feel, so i put it always on a winder to avoid unscrewing. I am afraid to buy another watch with a screw in crown. I never over wound a watch, i always think w...

the screw is broken… Metal particles have fallen into the watch and the mechanism is most likely damaged…. it is not good to get old ... Best Ø

Thanks to Jaeger Lecoultre Paris Vendôme Boutique, the watch is on the way to it’s birth’s place. I would like to thank the staff of the store for their kindness, their kindness and their professionalism ... For now everything is going as it should, well ...

By: Alfihar : October 31st, 2021-06:38
Hi everyone, On Thursday, after three weeks, I received a call from the watchmaker of the Jaeger LeCoultre boutique in Paris for my Duomètre Quantième Linaire. He explained to me that the regulator barrel screw was indeed broken and that it was necessary ...
I totally understand your passionate reaction. You are a passionate fan, you react as a passionate fan, in the good and in the bad moments; And here, the story of the screw is not attributable to you or time passing, but to...
By: amanico : October 31st, 2021-07:09
A problem when the movement was assembled. As this watch was almost unworn since then, the screw should not have broken. So, JLC should have taken the problem for free. Not happy for you, indeed. Not good for JLC, either. Best, mon ami. Nicolas
My heart goes to you.
By: Rhyzen : October 31st, 2021-11:14
The reply from JLC is devoid of empathy, and it is a great shame given your obvious passion for the brand. I'm afraid they have lost not just a long-time supporter, but also deterred many others from venturing into this brand. Disappointing.
Indeed my friend.
By: Rhyzen : October 31st, 2021-11:24
I had a JLC ultra thin moonphase in beautiful rose gold, and although it was a joy to wear, I let it go for another acquisition. Was seriously considering the new Polaris (due to your excellent review my friend), but am seriously having second thoughts no...

and yes "La Grande Maison" remains a fabulous dream factory… even if some of its representatives are unworthy of it…. it's always a question of people and excellence ... or mediocrity. I will see how JLC reacts ... But if they persist in the course taken,...

What a pity: no watch should not have this type of problems and the brand taking no accountability is a real disappointment... I fully understand your position and the only way out is JLC to service it at their own costs, which does not seem to be on the ...
Sorry about your ordeal, unfortunately you are not alone

I recently asked for a replacement dial on my Duometre because of a discoloration. They insisted on only doing it in the context of a full service (which it did not need as it was fully functional). So grudgingly I did send it in, waited for three months ...
It’s a shame !

Jaeger LeCoultre makes very beautiful pieces ... Unfortunately the service does not match the excellence of their creation… And unfortunately we are more than two to have had a problem with a Duomètre… and JLC service…

Unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved to this day. It's kind of my fault because JLC contacted me to meet me, but I've declined because of lack of time and also of desire. I honestly did not see what I could add to what I had already written in th...

JLC has a quite affordable service and failure rate isn’t specific to JLC. Best Ø
probably the perpetual module of JLC has some issues ..

many in the forums reported it too and other for IWC. This is really not ideal. But I wouldn't trust entirely a competitor, are Max Busser watches not coming back for service as often ? 😏

This story just confirm that we now live in a world of virtual images. And JLC like other brands want to preserve their image at all costs. They should know that narcissism leads to drowning in the lake… In the particular case the lake of Joux is not far ...
