As Amanico had announced it... I crossed the milestone of 1 / 20th of a millennium this Sunday ... And I thought for a long time to know what would be the watch that I would offer to myself for this event. The range of possibilities was enormous ... Vinta...  

My understanding is that all Duometres have to back to Le Sentier to be serviced. Mechanical watches are temperamental little bastards. There are a million things that can go wrong. After it comes back from JLC it will look and perform perfectly.

Maybe It could be solve by replacing the screw on Thursday or… I have to send it for a service… Best Ø

I've always been aware that the main thing is somewhere other than a watch problem ... it's just annoying ... and it happened the day after a great moment so I actually put it into perspective. The fact remains that it is frustrating and I cannot explain ...

Condolences, though, on the contents of the story! One question, though: do my eyes deceive me, or is the screw not fully seated in the original pictures? If it wasn't, that might explain how it came the rest of the way out when you wound it--you made the... 

Indeed either the screw was unscrewed and this was not seen during the inspection in July, or the screw broke. I do not see any other possibility ... and I think the first hypothesis is the most likely, unless it is a question of a brittleness of the stee... 

I would wear that JLC wrong. Great movement to see.

If the threadings in the screw are in the same direction as the barrel uncoupling movement, it will eventually loosen. Not sure if i can illustrate this well. One barrel turns clockwise, and the other barrel turns anti-clockwise. Therefore, the uncoupling... 

But as I’ve explained it… I only rewind it twice since July. Best Ø

marvelous, complicated as a perpetual calendar, sometimes sound like a minute repeater to remind you things, sometimes, poetic times like a lunar calendar, sometimes always late like the hand of a split-seconds… a all in one grande complication…

I too sent my Duometre to JLC for service since I wanted to make sure it was well maintained even though it was working fine and also received back a watch that failed almost immediately. JLC eventually sorted it out after multiple services and I ended up...

The six month wait is torturing, and even then it had to go back again for 2 weeks for a small problem. But it is in perfect condition when i received it back the love for it get stronger. I am sure you will feel that too when you get yours. Time flies, y...

Knocking on wood, i have no movement troubles with all my watches. My Omega have a strange crown feel, so i put it always on a winder to avoid unscrewing. I am afraid to buy another watch with a screw in crown. I never over wound a watch, i always think w...

Hi everyone, On Thursday, after three weeks, I received a call from the watchmaker of the Jaeger LeCoultre boutique in Paris for my Duomètre Quantième Linaire. He explained to me that the regulator barrel screw was indeed broken and that it was necessary ...  

A problem when the movement was assembled. As this watch was almost unworn since then, the screw should not have broken. So, JLC should have taken the problem for free. Not happy for you, indeed. Not good for JLC, either. Best, mon ami. Nicolas

The reply from JLC is devoid of empathy, and it is a great shame given your obvious passion for the brand. I'm afraid they have lost not just a long-time supporter, but also deterred many others from venturing into this brand. Disappointing.

I had a JLC ultra thin moonphase in beautiful rose gold, and although it was a joy to wear, I let it go for another acquisition. Was seriously considering the new Polaris (due to your excellent review my friend), but am seriously having second thoughts no...

I'm sorry to hear this, I share your sentiments completely. As mentioned earlier, I had some terrible issues with JLC with my Duometre, one of the many issues coincidentally enough was also barrel spring that snapped and unwound instantly as well. After m...

What a pity: no watch should not have this type of problems and the brand taking no accountability is a real disappointment... I fully understand your position and the only way out is JLC to service it at their own costs, which does not seem to be on the ...

I recently asked for a replacement dial on my Duometre because of a discoloration. They insisted on only doing it in the context of a full service (which it did not need as it was fully functional). So grudgingly I did send it in, waited for three months ...  

Jaeger LeCoultre makes very beautiful pieces ... Unfortunately the service does not match the excellence of their creation… And unfortunately we are more than two to have had a problem with a Duomètre… and JLC service…
