I am actually quite happy and content with my current small collection but last year I decided to finally place an order for the Charles Frodsham Double Impulse watch. When I say 'finally', that is because I had first dropped by at the world's only Frodsh...

I ordered one and THIS, is my exit watch. I can safely say enough is enough. This is a special watch and will go down in the history pages. Best Gatsby

I have an expected delivery date of 2027/2028 as well. Really looking forward to this one.

This will be a test of our patience and resolve but it will be well worth it.

I think also the fact thtat this watch is likely to be the costliest watch in my collection would also warrant it to be my exit watch. There would be nothing left for anything else!

But as you say Stenning is a really cool fella. When one truly understands the provenance of their work and the historical significance of the watch I think departing with this much money would make sense lol. Also, in a time where aesthetics are overly s...

The dial looks like enamel…is it? But I agree that the equal length hands and recessed seconds track make for a distinguished piece.

I will go for the steel model as I prefer a lighter watch. Saying that I have asked if the watch can be made in titanium, something Frodsham is currently exploring. I have ordered my watch without the cyphers (prizes awarded to Frodsham in the 19th centur... 

Waiting seems to be the norm these days Nico as our passion almost demands patience.

Meanwhilt one has to fight off the other attractions or distractions!

One of the reasons I actually did not order the watch 4 years ago when I first tried it on was because the wait was only 9 months. I am a total loony and actually like the wait although I would have preffered it to be 3 to 4 years. But 5 is ok

For such a special and $ piece, it's nice to have some time to enjoy the process, I did the same with my last watch and passed on an available piece for a future allocation and really enjoyed that extra time. My next watch is scheduled for 2025 build and ...

The watch sits very well on your wrist. What wrist size are you? I’m slated for late 2023 and hope they can fulfill it on time. I’m set on the 22k YG case, but can’t decide on Roman or Arabic indices. Given it’ll be more dressy for me, I’m leaning on the ... 

with a steel case and no cyphers. Ok, with a dark blue strap which will contrast well aginst the blue numerals. I have no idea actually what my wrist size is. I will let you know when I get back to Malaysia next week.

The fact that you have ordered two is further assuarnce for me that I am in the right company and have chosen well! 42.2mm has seldom looked better on my wrist, and as you say, it is all about the lugs.

Exit watches rarely exist but as I had mentioned earlier, having no fuinds left will help!

No funds is a good reason. But sell your car. Or a painting.

I love my car more than any watch, and paintings - well mine are worth peanuts!

Also ordered mine last year (around summer) after thinking and dreaming about this watch for too many years. and agree as well, have no problem with waiting time of 8 years.

I think if you ordered it a few months before me, yours should arrive in 2026 or early 2027 so only a 5 or 6 year wait

So 2027 will be a big year for both of us!

I think you'll love it! I'm moving to the exit as well. I think the key is that I can appreciate watches that I see and enjoy them while feeling I have enough in my own collection. I put an order in for a custom dial Pascal Coyon and I think that'll be it...

I can sympathize with the wait. I am 6 months in waiting on a KV, with an expected delivery of "early 2025." The waiting is the hardest part.

- like buying other watches or actually doing something entirely different! Congratulations on the Voutilainen - one of my favourite brands that I do not own!
