You are making an assumption without fully knowing me even though you said we are friends.
You truly owe me a dinner ;-)
Never in any of my post I mention anything about you and the 'relationship' of your watches as I know and truly try to understand your point of view. I will continue to be a true gentleman and will not say anything , but you better stop calling me your friend if you don't mean it. I was born at night but not LAST NIGHT.
I truthfully thought it was a very valid question which I'm surprised no one raise it. Isn't this what a purists forum is about?
When I ordered the watch, I was under the impression that this watch will be very accurate. From your statement, I guess I'm probably the only one having this impression.
I read this from Kari's literature and most likely, I interpret wrongly. It's my desire to believe and hence misinterpret it. He says' are capable' and I agree it doesn't say 'they will'.
"Watches such as these, created solely for accuracy and nothing else, are capable of a mean accuracy of only tenths of a second per week, something virtually unheard of in present day mechanical watchmaking."
Btw, I myself did not test the watch personally. And honestly at that moment, I was more disappointed that my wrist is too small for the watch.
So back to my early question in summary, what I truly want to know is does the owners actually have no such expectation and how are these Observatoires actually doing in real life? Is that an invalid question to ask?
I know that such question is sensitive but I thought most will be curious, no?
These are afterall Observatory watches, so far all I have heard are how beautiful and amazing they look. So what about its function?
Give you another example, when I ask this question AND if most owners have timed the watches and have excellent result, this post won't be resulting in such manner....it will be sea of praises and we will all continue to be wowwwwwwww. And how will I know how these watches perform unless I openly ask, no?
Thanks for your response Adam, we will see each other soon.
I know you have a special Observatoire coming too and I look forward to know more about it
Btw, I'm a man who means what I say and I don't hide or shill. I still do love Kari's watches.
If you want to question my intention about Kari, please have all the facts right. Well, I might as well tell you publicly.
It was an arrangement between me and another gentleman friend , it was arranged even before the watch arrived as I was concerned because of the size sitting on my wrist. The gentleman wants the watch and I agree to him that if it truly won't fit my wrist, he can have it and we will inform Kari. He is even nice enough to tell me that I can have it back anytime I want it. I regret it very soon as I think it is beautiful and I love Kari......so the watch was returned to me for a few days to try again. Again , I feel uncomfortable with the size on my wrist so it is back to my friend.
This watch in particular keeps very good time weekly, from what I know, it is around +2 to 3 sec a week but then it has the Besancon cert. The daily variant is not impressive though. I only raise this question after I know of a few other examples that's not keeping great time and I'm curious how about the rest.
Cheers,
CL
