Good question

Even though I have not yet timed my Observaotire, I appreciate the fact that it is borne of a vintage Observatory grade movement, I suppose what some have described as part of its romantic history.    More than that I enjoy the nearly perfect design and finish.

Too bad this watch did not fit better on your wrist.  I am surprised that if you could wear a Datograph you would not feel so comfortable with an Observatoire--I find the Observatoire just the right size and feel, while the Dato feels too bulky and less inviting on the wrist.  Yes, the Observaotire does appear larger on the wrist than other 38 mm watches due to its ratio of small bezel/large dial, but to have such a perfectly sized watch with this increased visual presence is part of the genius of this design.
