Here is the truth on this subject...
It takes about a 1/2 hour to make a Rolex due to the extreme equipment and large numbers of employees they have.
It takes an independent a few to several months to make one watch. His salary and small overhead must be accounted for as well as profit.
So his wares must be priced much higher than mass produced pieces.
