Helping accuracy

As one who sometimes adjusts watches I have some advise for those who are wanting the most accuracy. As the wearer you can help with this. First of all be as consistent as you can with your wearing habits. Don't wear the watch all day one day and only 2 hours the next. If you wear the watch a similar amount each day while doing similar activity it will make a difference. Also be sure and place the watch in the same position each time when not wearing it. If you know the particulars of the way the  watch runs in different positions it is possible to do some self regulating by changing that position. It may be that you can make up for different habits over the weekend by changing it's posotion after wear. Check the watch at the same time every day with a satelite controlled clock or time signal and make a note of it's performance for at least two weeks before returning to your adjuster (be prepared to pay extra for this kind of service). I am not saying that you will make a greatly accurate watch out of every one but that you will likely improve it's performance. Also be aware that not all regulating systems are equal in the capability to adjust them. Some are very difficult to make fine adjustments on. Hoping this advise helps and doesn't drive your watchmaker nuts, jadewatchmaker.
