There is some greater risk, although with ALS, the servicing is done so well that you don't have to worry too much. Especially if you live in the USA, Mr. Alkis is top notch!
I don't know how many spare dials ALS has, but they will generally have a set number of around 0.2 per watch made, up to 200 pieces. So even if they make 100,000 watches with aventurine dials, they'd probably have a max of 200 spare dials. They don't want to keep a large inventory of spare dials as this is very costly. Dials are amongst the three most expensive units of a watch (movement, case, then dial) so the cost is not trivial and they don't want a large amount of money sitting there with low ROI.
