Horological Meandering

They are indeed difficult to achieve...

Our team is small. And all of our moderators treat this as a hobby and not as a journalism career. And I can tell you, half of all the journalists I've met, know nothing about watches. They're assigned to cover these things by the Lifestyle editor of a greater publication and they themselves have no interest nor passion about watches. At the press conferences, they ask questions that show they don't know the difference between a mainspring and a hair spring. It was super rare to see journalists who liked watches at these press conferences 10 years ago. Today, because watch companies advertise so much in magazines, magazines and newspapers have been finding better journalists for the watch industry. But nevertheless, no journalist would go into something this technical nor this deep. Since there really isn't an audience for it. Hopefully my article didn't bore anyone to death - there might be some readers who didn't care about the technical differences between V1 and V2 of the BVL 138 caliber. In other words, an article like this would never see the light of day in a magazine - they want something happy and light, and around 200-250 words. But no real details. And I love details. To me, details make the watch. The mortar makes a brick wall. Bulgari has really put in the details. Like Cartier, they are really putting a lot of time, resources, manpower, equipment, and money into their watch division. They're even willing to loose money to build their brand in the long run (although I doubt they're loosing money right now since Octo Finissimo is doing reasonably well). I remember you like Cartier watches (I still want a Solarbeat, partially due to your influence). I don't recall, but have you tried the Octo Finissimo yet? You might find another watch to like!
