Horological Meandering

Thank you for your time

Hi Jay,
Thanks for this meaningful answers.
1. Yes, I agree. Though I count myself in the PASSION category, my passion is still coloured (or stained?) by the economics of it. For some reason, should I make the choice between a hyped watch, and a non-hyped watch, I fear I would attribute more beauty to it. I've been looking around for scientific papers on the psychology of collecting, and (not to find excuses) but it's possibly linked to the male hunter-gathering "genes". That we covet what others want in order to gain an advantage. But how can I fight my own instinct? And should I at all?
2. True, I feel that at some point, there should be some "verticality" or "horizontality" to a collection or sub-collection. I think these come-and-go when you discover something you truly bond with.
3. Has your collection grown in volume and value? Do you have rules for this?
PS: hope you're well these days!
