Horological Meandering

I would answer this way:

1) A collector is an enthusiast who buys watches based on a theme. The theme could be as generic as "watches", which makes everyone here a collector, or as specific as you want it to be.

2) This one is completely up to the collector, the only rule is to have a collecting philosophy, no matter what it is and how specific it is.

3) This one is, once again, for you to find out. What do you find yourself drawn to? Is there a logic to what you add or do you just base your acquisitions on emotions? Neither is bad, because as long as you have your priorities in check, indulging is not a bad thing.

Keep in mind that in my opinion being a collector is not necessary to enjoy the hobby, what's important is having passion and enthusiasm. Only you can define who you are. Only you can say wether you are a collector or not. This isn't science, opinions and taste reign over straight facts.
