Horological Meandering

Ladies and Gentlemen ...

Here, on the South Hemisphere of the 3rd world we have quite a few brand boutiques and ...

Everything can be summarized to people. Yes, PEOPLE not brands.

Some boutiques, of very prestigious brands will see my hard earning money when the hell freezes over or ... they hire people that knows how to sell.

Other brands, we could say less Purists brand, saw my plastic money several times last year because they have PEOPLE that knows how to sell.

It summarizes on "know how" and that is that.

We don't care if they offer refreshments, dated magazines or trinkets.

Knowledge and selling capabilities, is what matters.

Examples:

1) I had an insanity surge and got a boutique watch. Next day the floating keeper stitch was a little loose. Called the boutique and ... The entire strap was replaced. Wow!

2) Another brand, I went there wanting to buy an inexpensive pin buckle. Exit there with a new watch. Repeat this 3 times. Amazing service and relationship.

3) Another brand, went there really wanting to buy a watch. Dressed as usual (jeans and t-shirt). The manager handles me as an outcast, sending the message "you don't belong here". Got the watch from a gray market dealer. I could write "I shall never return" to that entrance of that boutique.

By and large, it's not the brand. It's people, as on any business.

Cheers,

Nilo
