I personally don't think succession planning is that big of a deal at LVMH.

The children are all involved and they work very hard to project the image of unity and strength.  Sure, who knows if that's the case in the background, but succession planning seems to just be a huge buzz word since the TV show and Bernard's age is taken into account.  Are stockholders and stakeholders really that worried?  I don't think so.  Seem like there are a lot of capable managers within the family.  Obviously, the older kids have been in the business at a bigger level for a longer time - so they may be given bigger roles.  I'm personally not worried.  There's minimal cannibalism at the group.  There's minimal in-fighting from what I can see.  And there are many mercenaries available to hire as managers of the brands - but I dislike hiring these mercenaries as they work with more short-term goals in mind (they want to get their bonus and then get out).  The family members work with long-term goals in mind.
