Great read. Your background research set the stage perfectly. Reading that Fleming excerpt, I'm reminded of a reviewer who once pointed out the stylistic similarities between him and Bret Easton Ellis: an almost obsessively detailed recounting of luxury items from their era (60's for Fleming, 80s for Ellis).
You certainly hit the right notes for me: opaline dial, rose gold case, simple and proportioned dial (except for the unfortunately undersized moonphase).
One question: do you know what the stamp "33MO.AL" on the movement stands for? Molybdenum-aluminum alloy springs to mind, but somehow I doubt this is correct....
