Two days ago I celebrated my last year of being fifty something and decided to place an order for a limited edition Bugatti. Before any of you congratulate me or sigh in disbelief, the car I ordered was a special car released to commemorate Bugatti's 110t...  

It is a massive indulgence on my part and I did ask myself the question - a nice watch or the Baby Bugatti ll? There was no contest

and drives as good as it looks too!

A low maintenance Bugatti!

This in cost blows my mind and puts the bubble in watch prices in perspective.

I asked myself which watch would I prefer to this lovely gem and there was not one that I would have preferred to the Baby ll. Yes it is not the most practical of vehicles but the fact is I am pretty sure it will put a larger grin on my face than almost a...

I am actually torn between the base model as I doubt I shall be racing it but it only comes in French Racing Blue. And I am also considering the Vitesse model in baby blue which is a very attractive colour. Then again almost any colour will look good on t...

But I do like the idea! I've ordered a couple other electric cars unfortunately. So the budget has already been allocated.

I am still partial to petrol guzzling machines!!

The petrol guzzling machines are indeed much more interesting, I have to admit. The sound of a purring V8, V10, or V12 is certainly intoxicating and difficult to resist.

I am fortunate that in Malaysia petrol is still relatively cheap and also there are hardly any public charging ports as yet. But if I had to buy an electric car, it would be a Taycan

I haven’t driven the Taycan. But I’ve heard good things. However from a software perspective there are some problems. And battery management computer fiasco where Porsche specified a cheaper system than the Audi étron GT. I’ll wait a bit until those thing... 

I had not realised that the Taycan had teething issues. Usually the Germans resolve everything before placing a car in the market but I guess the technology is in its infancy stage.

It is me being a boy again!

I have seen a famous Car Collector on YouTube taking delivery of the same car . Looks so cool and amazing. I can imagine your thrilled to see and drive this uber cool machine when its delivered.

That famous car collector on youtube is at several levels higher than me with his Hermes Bugattis. For me this is the closest I will ever get to own a Bugatti and at least I shall never get a speeding ticket with this one!

It is such a pity that the car is not road legal and I shall be driving it on the narrow village roads on the island of Langkawi in Malaysia. I probably could do with a pair if goggles too!

I never really did ask. Perhaps it has not met the stringent safety standards prevailing these days in the automobile industry. But I will be quite happy driving it off the main roads on the quieter more private roads.

is a good example of how motoring fun can be derived at low speeds in the right machine. The finishing of the car is supposedly at the high standards of a Bugatti so for me, that is good enough. Also, this will be my first adventure with an electric car. ... 

is electric the only option when purchasing? Should be less maintenance issues overall. Are you able to set up a charging outlet for the car at home (like Tesla and EV drivers here in the US)? As far as speed, up to 68kph is more than sufficient for a fun... 

the base model comes with a 1.4kW battery whereas the Vitesse and Pursang each have a 2.8kW battery. No special charging port is required unlike Tesla or Porsche as the Bugatti's battery packs are much smaller. And yes, maintenance should be minimal relat... 

Basically a 1.4kW battery will give a range of 25kms while a 2.8kW battery will cover 50kms. That might not sound like much but as the car is not for proper roads, that should cover quite a lot of ground.

The Little Car Company make wonderful recreations and the craftsmanship is impeccable. Chiron Blue would be a fitting tribute to the great man… ...  

I must check our Chiron Blue. I had half made up my mind on Dreyfuss Blue I was most impressed when I visited the factory in Bicester two months ago.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either. How about your choice of trim ?

Sometimes we find excuses to spoil ourselves!

We’ve long been at the point where watch prices have made the opportunity cost of buying a new watch quite high.

Watches are great but the high value of some pieces should start make us question what else can we buy at that price. Unless of course we on first name terms with Elon Musk!

It is great to see something quite unaffordable being within the reach of many.

Those who know me personally would exclaim that you were referring to my bald head!
