My 59th birthday present

Two days ago I celebrated my last year of being fifty something and decided to place an order for a limited edition Bugatti.  Before any of you congratulate me or sigh in disbelief, the car I ordered was a special car released to commemorate Bugatti's 110th anniversary.  Ettore Bugatti in the 1920s had decided to present his 4 year old son. Roland, with a Baby Bugatti, a 50% recreation of the Type 35, arguably the most successful car in the history of racing.  To commemorate its 110th anniversary, Bugatti in collaboration with The Little Car Company in the United Kingdom has decided to release 500 Baby Bugatti lls, a 75% scale of the Type 35 which can accommodate adults and children.  It has a top speed of 68kph and even a speed key (as in the Veyron and Chiron) that will unleash another 60% of power.

I managed to test drive the Baby Bugatti ll while in the UK in June and was more than thrilled at the raw driving experience.  The car is an exact recreation of the Type 35 with improvements to the brakes and suspension to make the car more driveable.  It comes in three forms - the basic which has a composite body work (and which comes without the speed key), the Vitesse which is made of carbon fibre and the Pursang which is made of aluminium like the original Baby.

This is the only way I would be able to afford a Bugatti and I am going to enjoy the experience!
