Automotive

I had the M4, and it was an 8 speed auto

I can say the reason I chose that car in the auto was it felt like the best version of the car. The BMW manual box is really average at best IMO, especially compared to the unit in the Cadillac. I had already driven the smaller Blackwing with the manual, and the BMW box is a letdown in comparison. At the risk of sounding like many auto journalists, it was rubbery, even mushy to me. The Caddy is precise and snappy, I absolutely adore it.
Why manual over auto in general? The enjoyment of total control. The added engagement and required focus. As an extra car, the reason for the purchase was to obtain a high end ICE car while they are still made. It is strictly for the experience of driving, which is generally changing for the worse IMO. This is an anti-EV; I expect an average of 13-14 MPG. But the roar of the supercharged V8 is so visceral, it is absolutely intoxicating. The thrill of shifting your own gears is one I learned as a kid, and while it has been many years since owning one, I am thrilled to have one again.

And thank you for the kind words my Friend smile
