Tesla and many other electrics ( & hybrids) use less aggressive braking systems because when driven sanely for best range, the regeneration does much of the work of stopping, leaving the pads and rotors less burdened. On my 2006 Honda Insight, I went over 100,000 miles with only one change of brake pads and shoes (rear drums).

I’ve driven Laguna Seca in a Lotus (terrifying) and certainly wouldn’t do it in a Tesla Plaid or car like that.
