That 1815 Chrono looks perfectly fine on your wrist..............
I don't know what size watch you typically wear but I rotate from as low as 37mm and as high as 45mm and when you move from the highest range to the lowest or vice versa it takes a little while to get used to the new size. I am wondering if that effect is happening to you here as that watch looks great on your wrist!
Having a 6.5 inch wrist myself (shown below) I have owned an original 1815 Chrono now for around 8 years and have never thought twice about a slight lug overhang. This watch has worn beautifully and comfortably during that time so much so that I happen to enjoy wearing it more than the Datograph. If you like this piece my suggestion is that you don't let its size relative to your wrist be the reason why you don't purchase that watch. (It's a beauty!)

Yes, it is a little too large. The solution, however, is easy.
Get a bigger wrist. Do some simple hand-strength exercises every day.
It is a bit big, IMO...but hard to say no to this one.
If it's comfortable, then still consider whether its size might work for you (e.g., too big for a dress watch, but it may work as a more casual watch). The 1815 black dial chrono is a great piece. Cheers, John

Right now in my collection the biggest watch is a Jaquet Droz 39mm with almost 50mm lug to lug. Somehow I don’t find it too big despite the slight lug over hang! I think the 1815 Chronograph shall wear quite similar to this. ...
