Not sure why all the outrage.

I agree, the bundle deal as recounted and presented by the AL&S boutique seems a bit unsavory.
But consider how the deal approximates these positions:
1) A flat out "no, sorry, not available" [the boutique makes no further statement but given the demand for the piece, the boutique evaluates each prospective customer, and the watch is reserved for good ($) past customers and VIPs]. This seems logical and acceptable. Of course businesses do and should favor their best customers and VIPs. We all do this in our everyday lives, and to think that our cherished watch brands shouldn't do the same is arrogant and hypocritical.
2) A statement that, "sorry, only existing customers of the boutique are eligible to get in the queue for the Odysseus". Same basic analysis as #1 above.
3) A statement that only existing customers of the boutique are eligible to get in the queue for the Odysseus, and to qualify for the watch as a past customer, something on the order of a Saxonia Moonphase is a qualifying prior purchase. This is essentially the same as #1 and #2, but further clarifying details added to explain what level of purchases are required.
I don't understand the outrage, and i sure don't understand why some would-be buyers think they should take precedence over Lange's longstanding customers and VIPs.
Way too many buyers parachute in and want the hot watches without supporting the brands in any other way. Witness those with a collection of Daytonas, ROs, Nautiluses and Aquanauts. Do these collectors even like watches or are they simply in love with well-known symbols of luxury and wealth? This last point could bear a thread discussion on its own.
Cheers,
John
