A. Lange & Söhne

Just to clarify

If Lange had earlier announced the Enamel RG version of PLM as a limited series then one could have logically accepted that other series bearing variations of the PLM would come in the future and accordingly the exclusivity factor expectations moderated. Basis your views it seems that the buyers of the black dial ought to be ready to welcome the next "limited edition" of say another 300 in say white-frosted dial in YG and at a further reduced price?
This approach does precious little for the price discovery. It would not be a happy feeling to see a tweaked second version being offered nearly 30% below the first version and perhaps then a third series at a further 20%... I do respect the market dynamics /business considerations etc that a brand has to deal with; but what I would always look for is a single production run of an LE and no drip-feed approach. My arguments are never about watches as an investment. We buy to wear and enjoy. But the key decision for a collector to buy a particular model IMHO is that esoteric feeling of owning something that will be treasured by a small club of owners and the knowledge that it gets revered as a Grail over time in the lexicons of watch collecting. I have no issues about what should be the volume offered in that single run as it is the prerogative of the brand. But once and none after that should be the brand philosophy. regds
