A. Lange & Söhne: Agree Not My Cup of Tea

I am of similar mind to CR, aesthetically I am not a big fan of the Odysseus line but this is a nice addition to the family.

A. Lange & Söhne: Dato Comparo Poll

Put me down in favor of the first gen version. In fact, I waited to acquire the Pt version (I already had RG) until I saw the 2nd gen and then decided to buy a preowned original version. Particular considerations for me was my preference for the dial of the original (including use of Romans, I prefe

A. Lange & Söhne: Amazing Collection

Amazing collection. Only one chrono though and I think a Pt Dato (I prefer the first generation version) would nicely complement what you have now. On the other hand, I agree that no collection of this level is complete without a model with a Langematik movement. I would suggest the Anniversary with

A. Lange & Söhne: Lange Boutiques vs Authorized Dealers

Sorry I am so late to this party! Lots of interesting and insightful points that I have enjoyed reading. I can add a few comments with regard to some points and questions earlier in the thread, based on my own experience. With regard to the (former) ADs in both NY and Boston - While I agree that som

A. Lange & Söhne: Pink and Rose Gold

To expand on what CR mentioned, technically rose gold and pink gold are not the same, though many people (myself included) often use the terms (as well as "red" gold) interchangeably. All three are 75% gold; red gold then has 25% Cu, while rose is 22.5% Cu and 2.5% Ag, and pink has 20% Cu and 5% Ag.

A. Lange & Söhne: Not Sure I Agree

I agree absolutely with CR that the relation of the HG Tourbograph to the original Pt version is analogous to what we are now seeing with the new WG RL PLM relative to the original enamel versions. Same deal. However, I am not sure that I see that the release of the first Tourbograph should have "di

A. Lange & Söhne: Thinking Ahead

Lots of great advice was posted already and in any event I think this is a very personal decision. Here's another perspective to consider though. "Bet you can't eat just one" applies to more than just potato chips (as in that famous tv commercial). After you add an L1 to your collection you may soon
