I think I totally disagree with your sentence Z'

 

"I would think that most amateurs with a feel for vintage would always go for the original model of virtually any watch model."

This doesn't mean it is the more interesting or the best one.

This would mean the older one is always considered to be the nicest one which is not true.


I talked about this earlier and think that somes watchfans, as long as a watch looks vintage or is older, automatically consider the one which looks more "vintage" is better.

This is a great mistake I think and this is just being not able to free themselves from the vintage models they had in their hands and which shaped their tastes.

I think we may judge a watch compared to its time and to the brands DNA.

We can see many examples of brands going the wrong way from time to time and make the newer better.
